Good Boss, Bad Times

Friendship

As a twenty-something female prof, I often have students journey into my office to talk about the difficulty of loneliness - of feeling like a misfit. Even though they live with their peers, study with them, and even eat dinner in a communal environment - they feel alone. I never really hear this complaint from male students.

Recently, I've realized the perhaps this is more than just a complaint of female college students. I hear my own female colleagues say similar things. There is one similarity I hear when I talk with women - we focus on the differences..."well, she is not a mother," and "well, she was home schooled and sheltered," "well, she is liberal...or too conservative."

Why do we do this? Of course we are all different.

Sisters

I hurt for her, and want to erase her pain.

Different Paths

I had dinner with girlfriends this week. The first time in ages. We were all close friends in college. As I sat there with them, I began to feel like a misfit. None of this was intentional on their part - it is just about being in different places. All of my friends have beautiful children, and yet, I am different.

Why is it that I am not ready to have children? Is there something wrong with me? With Bryson? What if we don't have kids?

The House Didn't Sell After All...

As many of you know, Bryson recently sold our home while I was in China for work. Unfortunately, days before we were to close on our new home in Siloam Springs, the buyers of our home had to back out because their home that was also on the market failed inspection. Because their buyers backed out, they also had to back out of purchasing our home.

This Sunday, we are having an open house from 2:00-4:00 PM. If you know of anyone who is in the market for a home in Bentonville, please tell them about the open house. You can also read more about our home at:

Our house is located in Wildwood, near World's Gym. The house has four bedrooms, three baths with a meticulously maintained yard. The house is perfect for hosting large groups because of its open floor plan. Also, the neighborhood is extremely family friendly. The POA is currently voting on putting in a neighborhood pool.

My Bags Are Packed and I am Ready to Go!

The bags are packed! I am running to the Pearl Market to see if there are any items that I must have. Then, off to the airport.

Adios!
